'I Love you Mum' greetings card with fused glass flower, forever keepsake.
I start by printing the design with message on locally sourced recycled paper.
I hand cut each one and apply it to the front of the recycled kraft card.

HOW I MAKE THE CARD
I start by printing my design with message on locally sourced recycled paper. I hand cut each one and apply it to the front of the recycled kraft card.
The hole at the top is punched in, again each one is done by hand, waiting for the handmade fused glass keepsake to be applied.
To make the fused glass keepsake I use a stencil to punch the flower shape. Its placed between layers of glass before I carefully place it into the kiln and fire it at 810 degree.
Each piece sits in the kiln for around 20 hours and as they are handmade, each one may be slightly different.
In this process the glass fuses together, encapsulating the flower for all of eternity.
