HOW I MAKE THE CARD
I start by printing your chosen saying onto the front of locally sourced recycled paper. I hand cut each one and apply it to the front of the recycled kraft card.
The hole at the top is punched in, again each one is done by hand, waiting for the handmade fused glass keepsake to be applied.
To make the fused glass keepsake I use templates to create the shapes within the glass, and for this one I have a star which I sprinkle mica over.
It is placed between layers of glass before I carefully place it into the kiln and fire it at 810°C.
Each piece sits in the kiln for around 20 hours and as they are handmade, each one may be slightly different. In this process the glass fuses together, encapsulating the star for all of eternity.
